Painting Prep & Restoration

Quality Prep for Quality Work

About our Painting Prep
& Setup Process

Why Proper Preparation and Setup are Crucial new construction

Many people believe that prepping and painting new construction is simpler and harder to mess up compared to older restoration work. The truth is, new construction still requires significant work, skill, and expertise to get the job done right. Without proper preparation and attention to detail, homeowners and business owners risk spending more money down the road to repair and refinish poorly executed work, or worse, they’ll be stuck with a subpar finish on a project that likely cost them a lot to install in the first place.

It’s crucial to hire a company that understands the proper steps to ensure your new construction, carpentry, and finishes are completed correctly. This attention to detail is what makes all the difference in the final result.

Surface and Material Analysis:

Before Gugel Painting LLC can undertake any physical alterations to the surfaces designated for restoration and preparation, a comprehensive material and surface assessment will be conducted to ascertain their type and condition.

Selecting the appropriate products and finishes for each surface is crucial:

We collaborate with the foremost suppliers in the industry to ensure access to the highest quality materials and supplies for all surfaces. Furthermore, we engage in comprehensive testing and training to evaluate and validate the performance of all materials and products we provide to our customers. Our team conducts thorough comparisons of these industry-leading products and materials through extensive testing to identify the optimal choices for the specific substrates and surfaces involved in our projects.

Conducting a Required Preparation Process:

Attention to detail and adherence to our preparation process are essential for creating the appropriate substrate for successful finish coats. The steps involved in our preparation process may vary based on the condition and state of the desired surface or substrate. The preparation for our standard protocol may include the following steps:

  1. Cleaning and degreasing surfaces that require servicing due to the accumulation of grime, dust, grease, and other substances that may impede the proper adhesion of primers and paints.
  2. Applying a light sanding technique to smooth out textures from previous paint coatings and to address minor impurities.
  3. Gugel Painting LLC will ensure that all cracks, gaps, holes, and significant indentations are filled using suitable sealants and fillers. However, Gugel Painting LLC will not be responsible for the removal or covering of all impurities, dings, marks, scratches, and similar imperfections. Our team will endeavor to sand, fill, smooth, and address these imperfections to a reasonable extent, completing this process in a single pass of sanding and application of sealants and fillers.

Restoration & Drywall Repair:

In addition to our standard preparation process, we offer extensive and advanced preparation methods for surfaces that are in extremely poor condition and require a higher level of labor for finish work. Some of these advanced preparation procedures include:

  • Skim coat application of spackle compound to level and smooth surfaces
  • Application of hardening compounds to improve and cover impurities on trim, doors, and woodwork
  • Window glazing and resurfacing
  • Orbital sanding with level five finishes
  • Wood replacement and surface patching for drywall, masonry, metal, and other substrates
